One of the starter buildings. Unlocked after investing 700 coins to repair the Town Hall. The Inn serves as the central quest hub where your Heroes can undertake quests to obtain rare crafting ingredients for your workers to use. Leveling up the Inn will unlock additional quests and quest rewards. The collective boost will reduce the quest duration for all quests by a certain percentage for as long as the building is active. The instant boost will shave off a certain fixed percentage of time from all currently-running quests (except City Raids), and will therefore never bring a quest all the way to completion but can dramatically shorten a long quest with just a few clicks.
The person whose Special Orders you are currently working on can also be found in the Inn.
Note that at some point the building-unlock "New Rewards" for various quests (e.g. Catacombs at Inn level 10) was changed to "New Quest Levels". Before unlocking that upgrade, the corresponding quest boss cannot be fought at level IV, so the quest cannot be advanced to level V. (The first four quests are an exception, as they do not have a corresponding "New Quest Levels" unlock.)
The City Sewers is the first and only available Rare Resource Quest to new Towns.

Boosts provide various temporary benefits to your city, workers and heroes.
The Primary Boost provides an immediate percentage-reduction to remaining quest time for any active quests. This boost does not affect any injured or resting heroes. That is, any quests currently in progress have their time advanced, though never all the way to completion. A trick, then, is to send everyone out on quests, invest the minimum at the Inn 3-5 times, then check to see if the quest durations look more reasonable to you yet. If not, then go invest further in the inn until they do. Keep in mind that this trick gets steadily more expensive over time as the Inn (and therefore the minimum investment), and so is best saved for the higher-level quests.
A quest/raid can't be reduced below 15% of its (remaining) original duration. Any further boosts done don't have any effect. The only way to finish it quicker than that is to pay gems to complete it.
The Secondary Boost reduces the duration of all Quests BEFORE sending heroes. Therefore, a single minimum-investment before sending out a full roster of quests can also be a good idea.
